Who would've thought that an old paint tin with a pin hole through it could take photos?? Over the past week I've been undertaking an intense, two week Black and White Photography course. No digital or snazzy technology for this course.. It's all old-fashioned, dark room style! I'm actually enjoying this more than digital photography. There's an element of excitement as your photos develop since you don't know what to expect. I've found that some 'mistakes' can actually turn out to be an effective piece of work!

This is one of my 'mistakes' which my tutor loved:

Traditional photography gives you effects that you can't get through digital photography. Although it's a lot harder and more time consuming, it's been a very rewarding experience.

Here's some more pictures I took with a paint tin, pin hole camera.

I'll keep you updated on my next assignment which involves photographing numbers that represent your birthday. This time I'm using an old-school pentax camera :P

It just goes to show that you don't need flashy cameras and lenses to create an effective image!

And it was AMAZING! Well I knew it would be :P Last night (23rd of May) was Anthony Warlow's last show as the Phantom (for the meantime). Sad :( That man is a machine.. Seriously, his voice is just mind-blowing.

I had a fantastic night with a good group of people, friends and family. We had really great seats as well, fourth row from the front, so the actors were right up in our face! After the show, we thought we'd try our luck in waiting by the backstage door to see if any of the cast would emerge. The actor who played Piangi was the first to make an appearence, signing autographs and taking pictures with phans, then Alexander Lewis, who plays Raoul popped by for a quick chat! He was amazing in the show.. Actually made me like Raoul :) I was a bit devestated that Anthony didn't come out for a chat, but he did look extremely tired and emotional during the curtain call so he probably went straight to bed for a well earned rest!

Anyway, we got picture taken with Alexander Lewis!

Here's a clip of him singing 'All I ask of you': [link]

Hi guys,

I'm currently undertaking a class titled 'Advanced Print to Web publishing'. Over the course of this class, we are required to locate an unsigned singer or band and create a CD Cover, Brochure and Website for the chosen singer/band.

If there are any artists out there interested, this project is completely free of charge as its an educational based project.

Please get in contact with me at penny002@students.unisa.edu.au if you're interested or know anybody else who is.

It would be much appreciated!!!!

Nicole
